New Video Updates September 2021
Greetings, friends! We have been silent for a long time, yet the Lord has kept us so busy. We want to update you using two of our newest videos, which will give you current information on the ministries in Perú!
The first is geared toward kids of all ages. It's a great way for us to introduce you to each member of our family.
Our year started out positive with many new opportunities in the ministry. For weeks it appeared CoVID numbers were diminishing. Early in the year, our team started an online training called, “Brigada de Esperanza” or “Brigade of Hope” where members of our extended team train local churches interested in learning more about ministry to victims of abuse and human trafficking.
Additionally, our team held several trainings with local pastors, while carefully adhering to CoVID restrictions. These trainings are necessary to adequately complete another ministry focus called “Transformando Vidas” or “Transforming Lives.” This ministry impacts specific children who are facing challenging life situations. Our team, along with these local churches, help to meet the spiritual, physical, and educational needs of these children, thus impacting entire families.
March brought discouraging times due to a robbery in our home and ministry office. Over $40,000 of funds and equipment was stolen. Despite our team’s efforts, nothing was recovered, because local police were not willing to investigate.
Our discouragement followed in the month of April when a new strain of CoVID began to attack Perú. Our team suffered deep losses during time. We saw one team member advance to his Heavenly home, while other team members lost loved ones. Our team was impacted dearly during this time.
Short Furlough
The Lord provided an RV and small vehicle in order to seek new support for the ministry. We are grateful for positive meetings and many potential new supporters for the ministries. Our return to Perú is scheduled for October 6th. We are blessed to have some needed time of refreshment, as well as some blessed time with church and family.
Please PRAY for our family, as we continue the process to adopt. As you may remember, we have been approved to adopt and even have one special little girl we hope to add to our family. Our hearts were deeply impacted when our team experienced CoVID, as it affected our ability to further the process to adopt this little girl. Pray for our hearts, our home, and for the adoption process to go smoothly upon our return. We covet your prayers! Colton prays daily for a new sibling. Will you?
